The art of mindful movement has the power to transform body and mind. Rooted Movement classes combine precise alignment with joyful physical expression. We offer practices that energize, balance and rejuvenate the body, inviting you to tune in more deeply to yourself.

Yoga, Pilates, Breathwork, and Meditation

Located in the rolling foothills of the Catskill mountains, Rooted Movement offers practitioners effective tools (through yoga, Pilates, breathwork and meditation) to help process stress in the body and soothe the nervous system, all while building strength and increasing flexibility. These practices create balance, equanimity and an increased feeling of presence.

Rooted Movement offers classes to meet the needs of a wide variety of practitioners—from brand new beginners to seasoned practitioners, athletes to those with limited mobility—we meet you where you are, offering Yoga, Pilates and other forms of Mindful Movement. PHILOSOPHY

Yoga and Pilates are experiential movement practices that invite us to explore how we inhabit our own bodies. These forms offer tools that have tremendous value in daily life—from creating space in the body to connecting to the breath, reducing tension and beginning to re-pattern the way we move. Rebecca brings both a creative and methodical approach to teaching. Classes are playful, but also pay detailed attention to form and alignment.

We are all unique and our bodies change from day to day. Rebecca meets each practitioner exactly where they are, attuning to each person and offering a journey that improves strength, flexibility, balance and mobility and ultimately leaves the practitioner with a deepened sense of presence, peace and ease in the body.
